Aloshikha Rajihar Social Development Center.
Founded in the late 80's in the last century as a youth club, this organization has grown into a well-known local organization that tries to support the poorest in society by providing education, health care (including water and sanitation), and micro-credits for setting up small-scale economic activities. The director of this organization is Mr. James Mridul Halder. The work area of Aloshikha is located in southwestern Bangladesh, where the rivers Padma (called Ganges in India) and Jamuna (called Brahmaputra in India) merge into Meghna. The range of branches of these rivers form one of the largest deltas in the world. Floods are an annual phenomenon, making the area difficult to access and economic activities are hindered.
